Collaborating with major Canadian metal powder manufacturer on the investigation of water atomization technology. Combining the state-of-art computational technology, innovative ideas, and solid process metallurgy background to provide new solutions to upgrade the conventional metal production process.

Throughout the project, we have successfully provided many technical solutions on existing water atomization process using CFD analysis as well as data analytics. In addition, we are working very closely with engineers and operators to implements more continuous process improvement plans for existing metal powder production process.

My Ph.D. research focuses on understanding and optimization of water atomization process, a technique for metal powder production. The goal is to use computational fluid dynamics modeling and data analytics to acquire new insights into the outdated metal production process and the characteristics of the metal powder.

Project Description
